Background and research work

Anna Joy Olimba De Jesus is from Balayan, Batangas, and was born and raised in Tarlac. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Batangas State University – The National Engineering University, during which she completed a capstone thesis on the position and motion control of PCB photolithography systems, a project that encompassed 3D model design, electronics, programming, and full system assembly.

Upon graduation, she immediately entered the semiconductor industry, serving as a Wirebond and Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) Process Engineer in microchip manufacturing. In this role, she was involved in the wirebonding process, ensuring precise electrical interconnections between die and substrate, while also specializing in AOI for wire defect detection, identifying and analyzing bond wire anomalies.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence while serving as a University Research Associate I at the Digital Transformation Center. Her research interests center on the practical development and deployment of AI technologies, particularly machine learning, agentic AI systems, and large language models.
